How to Fix Error 0x80300024 While installing Windows

For those the users of Windows, you probably know that Windows has a lot of errors. Some of them are related to the operating system of the computer. Some more are related to the installed apps and programs. One of the errors that is specific to any Windows OS is called error 0x80300024.

When this error code 0x80300024 appears, you will get message written “Windows is unable to install to the selected location” or something similar. You might encounter this error when you are installing or reinstalling the OS. It can be when you are installing on the formatted hard disk drive or the new one. Another situation you might get this error is when you are upgrading the computer’s OS to Windows 10. This means that the Windows Installer cannot proceed with installation.

There are many causes of installation error 0x80300024 on Windows. Some of them are the damaged hard disk drive chips, the loose connection between installation drive and installation destination (hard disk), the damaged installation media, the damaged or incompatible hard disk drivers, and the insufficient space on the hard disk.
Then, how to fix the error 0x80300024? The first method is housekeeping. The first thing you have to do is to make sure that all the important accessories are connected and working properly. Please also make sur ethat the connection between the installation location (hard disk) and installtation drive is stable. There should be no scrathes on the cable connecting those two things that might interfere with th smooth installation of OS. Aside from that, you also have to make sure that the location of the installation is of the right size. Do not forget to try all of them before restarting the computer to check whether the error is fixed or not.

The second one is preparing the installation location (drive). To do this, you have to insert the OS installation mdia before restarting the computer. Then, select to boot from the installation media. The next thing you have to do is to select the preferred language and accept the license terms. After that, please click on “Custom”. In the next step, you have to select hard “Drive Options” in order to format the selected drive using Windows Installer. Then, select partitions before clicking “Delete”. In the last step, please click on “Next” to restart the installation. As a note, creating any partition is not that necessary. In fact, you can do it easily during the installation.


The third one is removing the extra hard disk(s). this method is for you who has more than one hard disk drive on the computer. That can be used as the destination of the installation. In this case, please consider unplugging the hard disk drives, except for the one that you need to install the OS on. Then, you have to restart the installation to the existence of the error. Do not forget to plug back the other hard disks when the error is solved.
