Does your laptop or computer use Windows 10? So far, perhaps Windows 10 in your laptop or computer runs well. But one day, it suddenly turns into a blue screen of death (BSOD) more often. Actually, Windows will restart the system after showing the BSOD by default. But, what do we have to do if there is DRIVER IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL ? You can fix it by using several methods that will be explained below.

  1. You canupdate All Drivers and BIOS. You have to download the drivers directly from the website of manufacturer because the drivers that are downloaded by Windows Update risk being either out of date or inappropriate in some cases. You have to download the appropriate version that is corresponding to the model . The model number of your hardware will be listed on the box it shipped in. If there is not the box, you are able to check the device itself. You maybe see an update for your BIOS is out, surely update that, too.
  2. If you have tried the first method to fix it but it does not work at all, you have toidentify the location of the problem. In Windows, there is a built-in tool which is called “Event Viewer”. You can look for it in the Windows Search bar/ Cortana. The Event Viewer will have a log of all critical errors, messages and warnings which is completed with the time stamps. Doing this perhaps will be boring but if you scroll via each critical error, you can identify the device that caused the issues. If you find that the issue is recurring with the device which is similar, you will have identified the problem there. So, if the problem is in the faulty drivers, you have to remove the old one and install them again. The first thing to do is that you have to download the latest version driver from the website of manufacturer. After that, you can remove the driver by opening the “Control Panel”. If the screen show the Control Panel, go to the “Device Manager”. Right Click the device which is making the error. If you have done right click, choose “Uninstall” which is in the context menu. If it is removed completely, you can install the downloaded driver and then restart your laptop or computer.
  3. There is another method to fixDRIVER IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL. You can remove Overclocking Tool. It is aimed to boost the performance of your hardware beyond its limits. You can remove all of the overclocking tools and then restore the hardware to factory defaults. After that, remove the software of overclocking. If overclocking will be done again by you, you can reinstall a fresh copy of the software and do it little by little so that it will not push the hardware to the breaking point again. The error perhaps happened because of the result of Windows 10 not run well with the overclocking tool. You can select between overclocking the system or running Windows 10 smoothly.
